A graduate of UMass Dartmouth (BA - Music, focus in Composition, Magna Cum Laude), Alex has been composing music since 2007. In that time he has cultivated interest in an array of different styles and forms of music. Experience includes performing in several academic ensembles such as UMass Dartmouth's Chamber Choir and Percussion Ensemble, as well as being former Assistant Director of the university's student-run acappella group Mental Note; playing keyboards in local rock band Something About Horses; and writing and arranging music for both large and small ensembles. Alex draws from a broad range of influences and musical styles, blending them together to create his own unique compositional voice.

"I've always had a really diverse range of musical interests. Some of my favorite rock and pop artists include Radiohead, The Beatles, Bjork, Minus The Bear and Queen. I’m also deeply rooted in video game composers like Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) and Koji Kondo (Mario & Legend of Zelda). I've always had the strongest connection with local bands and artists like Gruvis Malt, Bent Knee, Here We Just Dream, Gavin Castleton, The Rice Cakes and so many more."
